"5-speed manual or automatic. And yes, it has a reverse gear."
Well that's bloody helpful.

A lot of us think it's a neat idea, but there's no way they'll be able to sell them at that price and stay in business.

Anyone remember this?

These actually look pretty damn cool, especially with that 5 speed

Make a turbo one with 100hp and keep it under 10k, and I'm in!!!

I give them a year before the company goes bankrupt.
There's nothing wrong with the idea (of a closed top Can Am Spyder), I just doubt the idea is going to sell to a large audience of actual buyers. Companies like this pop up all the time. And the next thime you hear from them, they're bankrupt.
You get those items plus heater, defrost, the three airbags, power windows and door lock, seat belts, tempered glass, and windshield wiper at no extra cost
Nice! I've always wanted a car with a windshield wiper as standard.

They should put the headlamps on the fenders. That way they point where you steer, and also reduce frontal area.

Nevermind that is an old picture, they are inside the body now.

I like it and hope they get it built for that price.
If they do, I'm buying one.

It doesn't look like it has anything behind the grill at all besides a big crossmember
![]() 02/08/2014 at 21:19 |

I don't think they have actually sold a single one.
![]() 02/08/2014 at 21:24 |

Correct. I'm not even sure one exists outside of a prototype. They just signed a lease for a space in LA to make them, so manufacturing hasn't even begun yet.
Some accountant ran the numbers (using average small business startup costs and operations) and didn't think there was any way they could sell them at that price and stay in business.

He's made nearly a million from people reserving them though.

At least actually. $900,600 if they each paid $100 (The minimum amount) and you can pay upto $1000 to reserve it.
